This book is above all a homage to my city.
Verona photographed without a specific aim or direction.Houses, historic buildings and alleys I have known all my life.
ZATAC, was born in 1964 in Verona, where he lives and works today.
He began his career in video production and in 1986 produced and directed the television report “Christmas in the Arena” for ‘Verona All Year Round’ on the Sereno Variabile programme on RAI 1.
In the 1990 edition of the Premio Venezia, he received a special commendation as best camera operator in the audiovisual series La Robotica produced by Vincenzi Audiovisivi.
In 1993, he took part in the photographic exhibition entitled “Gardens in the Cupboard” held at Palazzo Taidelli, Sanguinetto (Verona) with the video
Il giardino incantato (The Enchanted Garden).
In 1993 he produced and directed the PC Magazine commercial for the Jackson publishing group.
In 1995, he received second prize at the 1st Lessinia Film Festival for his video Lessinia, frammenti di una terra forte e serena (Fragments of a Strong and Peaceful Land).
In 2003 he received first prize and a special commendation for the video Crete as part of Pollicino Progetti Culturali, organised by the Borough of San Giovanni d’Asso (Siena). He produced the video Il rifiuto dei rifiuti (Refusing refuse) the same year, commissioned by the City of Siena and the ADM Italia advertising agency.
In 2005 he began working with Tips Images in Milan. His photos have been published in Flair, Glamour, Vogue, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Amica, Men’s Health, GQ and Focus.
In 2004 he held his first one-man show, entitled Nella normalità dei giorni (Ordinary Days) at Villa Vecelli Cavriani, and the same year produced the multimedia theatrical performance Yesterday Tomorrow in collaboration with the American singer-songwriter Deborah Kooperman.
In 2005 he produced the DVD Di lupi di acque e di pietra (On Wolves, Water and Stone) with the pianist Federico Fuggini.
In 2006 he produced the photographic slide show Dove finisce la terra (Where Land Ends) in collaboration with the architects Vincenzo Pavan, Pongratz Studio, Perbellini Architects and Luca Scacchetti for the Abitare il Tempo expo.
In 2006 he took part in the City Chic exhibition in Via Montenapoleone in Milan with some of his best fashion photos.
In 2007 he published the photographic book Di passaggio nella terra del lupo (Passing Through the Land of the Wolf) for the Culture Department at the Borough of San Giovanni Lupatoto.
In 2008 he took the photos for Federico Fuggini’s book Pandoro e peccati (Sweetbread and Sins).
